The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards

Heston-Blumenthal-DinnerSan Pellegrino’s have announced their annual list for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. The awards see the world’s best chefs in attendance, leading to the event becoming one of the most highly anticipated events in the culinary calendar. Representing 21 countries across 6 continents, the list sets the bar for the best gastronomic experiences in the world.

The results were announced during the annual celebration at London’s Guildhall. Despite the awards being held in the UK, only two British restaurants were listed in the top 50 list for 2015, with The Fat Duck by Heston Blumenthal in Bray not making it into the top 50 this year. However Dinner, also by Heston remained within the top 10 despite dropping down two spots to be ranked 7th. Brett Graham’s The Ledbury was also in the top 50 despite dropping 10 positions to 20th.

El-Celler-de-Can-RocaThis year’s 1st place winner was El Celler De Can Roca in Girona, Spain, who previously held the title in 2013 before falling into second place behind last year’s winners Noma. The four-time Danish Winners Noma, have been bumped down further this year to third place to make way for Italian runner-up Osteria Francescana. The Italian restaurant, led by fun loving and charismatic chef Massimo Bottura, has climbed up a rank after being awarded third place for the previous two years

Chefs, the Roca brothers from El Celler De can Roca have reclaimed their title as best restaurant in the world in the World’s 50 Best restaurants list, and have been praised for their free-style cooking and cutting edge techniques.

  • Noma – Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Central – Lima, Peru
  • Eleven Madison Park – New York, USA
  • Mugaritz – San Sebastian, Spain
  • Dinner by Heston Blumenthal – London, UK
  • Narisawa – Tokyo, Japan
  • O.M. – Sao Paulo, Brazil
  • Gaggan – Bangkok, Thailand

The awards, which began in 2002; are run by Restaurant magazine and has become a reference guide for foodies around the world.
